Fees and Payments for Au Pairs

charges £250 to arrange a placement of up to six months. For placements
of over six months the arrangement fee is £300. The fee is payable upon
arrival of the au pair.
If a placement irreconcilably breaks
down (i.e. after an Ark Angel agent has tried and failed to resolve difficulties)
the full fee is refundable provided the breakdown occurs within four weeks
of the commencement of the placement. Host families are requested to give an
au pair a sum of 30 pounds upon arrival as a welcome which will allow
the au pair to buy essential items. It is a matter for the host family
to agree how much you pay an au pair although Ark Angel insists on a minimum
of £45 per week. A greater sum may be agreed where there are additional
costs involved in travel. The host family is expected to agree and pay
for English classes where the au pair’s level of English is such that
they are necessary. The host family is also expected to meet the cost
of the au pair returning to Romania at the end of a successful placement
which will normally amount to approximately one hundred pounds. Sums paid
to an au pair are free of tax and national insurance contributions. Au Pairs are responsible for their own
visa costs and the cost of getting to and from the UK. Ark Angel Solutions makes no registration
charge to au pairs.
